Supernatural powers

Hello there! :)
Have you ever thought about possessing some supernatural powers? Which ones would they be?
As for me, I have been thinking about it since I was a child, specially when I have watched fantasy or science-fiction films. It isn't hard to imagine - to fly without any use of material constructions, to be invisible or to create something only by thinking of it, but unfortunately it's not so easy to make it possible in real life... I would really like to be able to communicate only by thought also in distance and to be at several places simultaneously.
The greatest inspiration for me to dream about having supernatural powers were the well-known amazing series of books and then films about Harry Potter. I still can't help wondering what a fantastic story like this one was created! On the one hand it would be wonderful if everyone could choose such unusual powers. On the other hand, however, it could cause unpredictable and dangerous consequences for all humanity in case someone wanted to use their supernatural forces for some wrong or dirty purposes.
Anyway, I'm overjoyed that we have opportunity at least to dream and to use our imagination for creation of endless amount of pieces of art, making real our desires at least partially.

Travelling = happiness

Hello my Friends! :)
What a wonderful thing travelling is, don't you think so?
I would like to share my latest experience with you as yesterday I went to one of the most visited cities in the world - Berlin! It was the first time I have ever been there, and I definitely want to go there again! I went to Berlin with a big group of Poles accompagnied by our guide and we stayed there only one day, but it was truly intensive and full of amazing emotions trip. First, we went to East Berlin and passed the East Side Gallery, where among other graffities a famous painting of Brezhnev and Honecker's fraternal kiss is depicted. Then we had an occasion to see the apple of Berliners' eye - the famed Fernsehturm (The Berlin Television Tower), which is the tallest structure in Germany. Then we visited the Lustgarten, one of the numerous parks in central Berlin, where is situated the huge and astonishing Berlin Cathedral.

 To our common joy, we entered a store of one of the best-known German brands of chocolate - Ritter Sport, situated in Französische straße in Berlin. We were all just stupefied by the endless amount of different types of chocolate, so everybody could find something for themselves!
 After that, we passed the main street of the capital - Unter den Linden, that leads to Pariser Platz, where we could see the Russian (a bit in front of the square), the American and the French Embassies and the most expensive hotel in Berlin named Adlon. Moreover, the square is well-known also due to the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), one of the most famous landmarks of Germany.

 Afterwards, we visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, which is presented by numerous slabs vary in height and organized in rows and located near the Brandenburg Gate.
 Later on, we visited the renowned and monumental Reichstag building in Platz der Republik, which now is the meeting place of the German parliament. The building amazes by its ineffable magnitude and grandeur, so there is nothing strange that so many tourists are always eager to visit this edifice.
After that, we also went to Potsdam, a city situated approximately 30 kilometers from Berlin. There I met my lovely friend who studies in Berlin and we continued the trip together passing through the Sanssouci Park with Sanssouci Palace in there, which earlier was a residence of the Prussian royal family.

At the end of our trip we went to the Christmas market in Potsdam, a street known as Weihnachtsmarkt, with numerous cubbies along the street all decorated with bright and lucid light chains. It was truly crowdy as there were many German and tourists who were walking and buying delightful sweet things, all different Christmas toys, decorations and souvenirs. There we had a rest and ate a simple but deliciously prepared dish of roasted potatoes, smothered cabbage and a saussage.
To sum up, in spite of little time that we had to visit all the main places of Berlin and Potsdam, I really enjoyed the trip and the atmosphere of the imminent Christmas that I experienced there!

An occasion for some riflection

My dear Friends,
what is forgiveness and should people always forgive their wrongdoers? Probably the answer of many of us is quite obvious when it comes to everyday life situations like having arguments, insulting others and being insulted, lying to each other etc. But what about such cases like murders, betrayals and infringements? Is it possible to forgive such delinquencies and continue to live without persistent sense of hatred and grief?
This kind of reflection has come into my mind and completely broke my heart when I was visiting Auschwitz concentration camp last Saturday. I was familiarized nefore with the history about a ferocious treatment and extermination of people by the Nazi German, but it was extremely hard experience to realize that I was physically present in a zone where such horrible things had taken place. When I was walking there, I really couldn’t believe that everything that had happened was true. It was like a horror film, but based on real facts and evidences. Considering hard conditions in which prisoners had to live and work, the ferocity and brutal inhuman behavior of the Nazi German executors, there immediately appears a question, could they be forgiven by their numerous victims and members of the victims’ families?
I can hardly imagine myself in a place of these victims and try to forgive, but I know that forgiveness is an utterly powerful thing that can miraculously reconcile people, giving them an inner peace and happiness.

What about friendship?

Hello hello, my dear Friends! As I call you like this, an idea to talk about friends came into my mind. So in this article, let's think a bit about whom we consider our real friends and what actually friendship can be.
To tell the truth, every person, even the most introverted one, needs some relations with others to talk and to spend time together. In this way closer relations are built, and something more than a simple interaction connects the people. On one hand, in such situation, we start to consider our friends people we often meet and trust them the information regarding our intimate thoughts and personal experience, just like they trust theirs to us. On the other hand, it's a more complicated matter when it comes to long-lasting relations based on confidence and reciprocal relying on each other. The difference between friends and real friends is obvious, but sometimes we confuse this two terms and make a mistake when we consider someone our real friends.
There comes up immediately a question: is it possible that friendship is neverending and was it a real friendship that came to its end one day? In general, there are various opinions on this topic, but as it seems to be logical, friendship can be either temporary and permanent. Sometimes, we haven't got any influence on some events and life situations which cause debilitation of relations or even provoke a complete severance of relations. One thing we have to remember about is that everything is changeable, and even in case we are sure thare is no possibility a friendship with someone can end, we just have to be prapared to a potential disappointment in that person or simply to unexpected turn of events.
In conclusion, I would add that a real friendship is always verified by time, and often many years should pass after which we can be convinced that a person we call best frend is trustworthy and reliable.

Perfectionism: why is it dangerous?

Hello my dear Friends!
Today we're going to discuss one of the most problematical features that often disturbs people in usual way of living - perfectionism. Why is it so dangerous and what negative consequences should we expect from this kind of behaviour?
In the beginning we should add that there are, in fact, some positive aspects of being perfectionist. For example, a desire to do every task without fault or mistake can lead to the achievement of goals or help to achieve a huge success in job. But the accuracy and obsessive executing of everything in a perfect way have a slight difference.
 http://stress.lovetoknow.com/image/175032~perfectionist.jpg
Basically, perfectionists suffer from themselves as well as do the people the perfectionists are surrounded by. They are always striving to do everything flawlessly and requiring from others to keep high standards, which doesn't seem to be welcome and easily acceptable by others. What is more, people don't want to listen to a person that is always complaining on him/herself, on what could be done better but isn't, that is always unsatisfied with his/her or other's executing of any task in an imperfect way. Another negative aspect of being perfectionist is depression this kind of people fall into, and it's really very hard to convince such people not to despair after an insignificant failure. In other words, we have a duty to demand from ouselves to be conscientious and responsable, but also we have to remember about golden mean in everything and not to exagerate with critical self-evaluation and our evaluation of others.

How to keep good mood?

Hello dear Friends! :)
In this article we're going to discuss several ways of keeping your good mood for a long time or, in other words, how to fight the autumn's depression.
As it is widely known, people are often very moody, unsatisfied, sad or depressed. It could happen to us in every moment, espacially in autumn, when the beautiful weather is rare and the warm and sunny summer says us 'good bye'. So what can we do in such situations? First of all, everything is not so bad. In fact, there are periods in autumn, when we can observe such an amazing view: golden, green, orange, red and yellow leaves on trees, blue sky, sunshine and a little fresh wind, no rain, even though it's cold - so what? Go for a walk, look around, enjoy this colourful changing of trees, until they don't shed their leaves... Moreover, you can see how many families, pairs or just friends with their dogs walk in parks and appreciate this wonderful moments!
http://nature.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/649929/Secondly, try to meet your friends or do some activities with somebody as often as possible. The metter is that when you're alone, you're more concentrated on yourself, think obout your problems, sorrows, or on what is negative, so don't let these thoughts eat you! Spend more time with family or friends helping them, doing something funny together, watching a comedy or simply talking to them. It will help to share good emotions and enjoy being together.

Another example of effective ways of beating bad mood is just to eat some sweets ot chocolate bisquits! Sometimes, several pieces of chocolate or a cup of hot chocolate can make miracles! But don't esagerate with sweets, as you can be soon depressed because of needless kilograms ;)

Finally, try to do your best to defeat your bad mood, because there's nothing better to feel good and enjoy your life!

We are what we eat :>

Hello my dear Friends! :)
I'm sure, you have already heard the expression: We are what we it. Do you personally agree with this old saying? And what it is all about?
In this article we are going to clear some points concerning food and our nutrition and to undestand why is so crutial to be conscious of the meaning of this expression.
I suppose, many of us care about a good nutrition, are on a diet, don't eat in evenings or eat very little, refuse different tasty (like it seems to us) junk food and try even not to think about attractive and tempting sweets/chocolates.
First of all, the motivation for all of this sacrifications is the desire to be fit. For some people, however, it doesn't matter what and when do they eat, they just stay slim and don't put on weight. Secondly, the reason why we should stay away from all kinds of food from McDonald's, KFC or other fat and sweet food: just to be healthy = to avoid a possibility to land in the hospital with some stomach disorders or obesity-related diseases.

But think: why are we what we eat, how should we understand it?
Well, someone could say: if I ate a hamburger I'm hamburger? Or there are other similar thoughts with ironic approach to this expression:

It's a funny truth, but the point is that our body uses nutrial substances of the food we eat to create new cells and in that way to build itself, so we literally are what we eat.
That's why it's so essential to care about all of what we throw in our stomach, if we don't want to become a nice fat junk! :D

Music is a powerful thing

Hello dear Friends!

In this article we're going  to consider what is music and in what does consist its powerful effects.

Everyone, I suppose, love to listen to music. There are lots of various music genres, styles, ways of producting it. Each of us has his/her preferences and favourite peaces of music. But it's really hard to immagine a person who lives without listening to the music and loving it (except of people with hearing loss). So what is the role of music in our everyday life and why is it so powerful and important?

 First of all, music is a language, a way of communication. The music writers, which can be each of us, use different tecniques to express themselves, to transmit their message, energy and emotions to the listeners. But what about listeners? They enjoy the music or hate it, they perceive it and try to understand, to interpret in thier own way, but they can't be totally indifferent what they are listening to. The music stimulate our immagination, inspire us to act or to create something, it doesn't need words to tell a story or to speak to the listeners.

Music can be also an instrument of impovement or development of our play skills (Yuja Wang), a way of relaxing and making kids calmer (Mozart), a reason to widen the scop of our knowledge about the greatest musicians and their output (Lang Lang) or simly to admire the fantasy and talent of famous singers and musicians (Muse - but here we do have the lyrics ;) ).

In one hand music is perceived by us like a consequence of sounds, but it can be also painted or sculptured:

Regina Valluzzi, "Music of the spheres"
Nathalie Mielbach, "Weather music sculpture"

We don't need to be great art experts to know and to realize that music is not only about listening and creating, it's about something more, like discovering the world, everything that is material and abstract, learning about ourselves, our minds, feelings and practicing our sensitivity to what is unique and eternal.

How to do everything in time?

Hello dear Friends!

Probably, many of you asked yourself at least once in your life: how can I manage to do so many things as quickly as possible?

Often we have to face such situations, when there are many tasks and much work to be done, and exactly then we start to worry about finishing everything in time. As we know from experience, in the majority of cases we don't manage to do all the tasks because of lack of time. But is this really true?

The problem which is the cause of our stress and not being able to finish everything in a certain period of time, is lack of good organisation and putting a plan into execution. In other words, we should do some essential steps, which will help us in any similar difficult situation:
Step 1. Wright all the tasks you ought to do. It will help you not forget about something, so that you can controll your list any time you need it;
Step 2. Separate the priority tasks (which are more important than others) and minor tasks (which are easier and don't need much time to be done);
Step 3. Start doing the priority tasks first, so that you'll have done the major and more difficult part of your work;
Step 4. Don't get distracted by little and unnecessary things, which are social networking services like Facebook or Twitter (if you're woring at your computer), then eating or drinking very often while you're studying or working, listening to the music (often it disturbs to concentrate on execution of the planned tasks) etc.; learn to say "no" to your impulses to do something esle which is not written on your list;
Step 5. Do some 5-10 minutes breaks after a half an hour of intensive working/studying, so that you can have a rest and not to feel overworked and exhausted;
Step 6: Try to do every task as quickly as you can, don't waste too much time on some part of it, but be also careful and accurate in what you're doing;
Step 7. Highlight all the tasks you've done so far, so it will be easier for you to concentrate on what is left and needs to be done;
Step 8: Do a major break (20-30 min.) for lunch or dinner and have it calmly;
Step 9: Finish the execution of your plan with minor and easy tasks, because these ones don't need to much of your energy and will be done with pleasure;
Step 10: Enjoy the results of your efforts and finished tasks.

I hope this advices will really help you to orginize your time efficiently and to resolve the problem of doing everything in time!
