Perfectionism: why is it dangerous?

Hello my dear Friends!
Today we're going to discuss one of the most problematical features that often disturbs people in usual way of living - perfectionism. Why is it so dangerous and what negative consequences should we expect from this kind of behaviour?
In the beginning we should add that there are, in fact, some positive aspects of being perfectionist. For example, a desire to do every task without fault or mistake can lead to the achievement of goals or help to achieve a huge success in job. But the accuracy and obsessive executing of everything in a perfect way have a slight difference.

Basically, perfectionists suffer from themselves as well as do the people the perfectionists are surrounded by. They are always striving to do everything flawlessly and requiring from others to keep high standards, which doesn't seem to be welcome and easily acceptable by others. What is more, people don't want to listen to a person that is always complaining on him/herself, on what could be done better but isn't, that is always unsatisfied with his/her or other's executing of any task in an imperfect way. Another negative aspect of being perfectionist is depression this kind of people fall into, and it's really very hard to convince such people not to despair after an insignificant failure. In other words, we have a duty to demand from ouselves to be conscientious and responsable, but also we have to remember about golden mean in everything and not to exagerate with critical self-evaluation and our evaluation of others.
